Morning Workout

Depending on my week I make the effort to include working out into my schedule. Lately it’s been in the mornings as hard as it is to get up in the morning it sets my day in the right path. The first thing I do before my workout is stretch and take a few minutes to just breath it helps me mentally, physically because no one wants to pull a muscle and it’s great to have the right mindset before working out or even just starting your day in general. I have been loving jumping roping, some people like me get bored of walking and running at parks sometimes so another ass kicking cardio workout has been my jump rope. Literally ass kicking! I got mine at Target for only $6

It’s always a goal of mine to drink as much water as possible, with the consequences of having to pee every another hour but what can you do. There are times when i enjoying adding a little flavor to my water that’s actually good for you as well, listed below are the ingredients for my favorite natural flavored water at the moment!

  • 1 Grapefruit
  •  2 Oranges
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • Peel and slice grapefruit, oranges and lemon. slice the cucumber and shop the mint. Add all ingredients to a pitcher with ice and fill it up with water

Grand Canyon National Park


To end 2015 with a little bit of a bang after a crazy year of change, I got the chance to visit the Grand Canyon which was extremely breath taking and cold. It is amazing to see something so historic it doesn’t even look real, I was standing there thinking on how little I am compared to this what i like to call “a giant as hole that looks prettier then me” in all honesty it is breath taking and makes me want to travel a lot more to what else this world has to offer sometimes we really do forget to take a minute to enjoy the beauty of the world when we are sometimes always surrounded and paying attention to the negativity that goes on. When was the last time you did something for the first time?

This past week I was staying with my tia and tio along with my cousins in my hometown where I grew up; South Gate, CA. A lot of the times I say no often to certain things, when I know I should practice saying yes. My cousins always show me and remind me not to be afraid to explore, get out of my comfort zone and get my hands a little dirty. So why not take an adventure to what once was a busy street, and after an earthquake is now a place to roam and make memories. It was such a beautiful view, the ocean has my heart and hearing the waves crash against the rocks is my absolute favorite. I feel we sometimes take these little things for granted, the smell of the ocean and the great outdoors with good company. So here’s to us all taking more risks, saying yes, and trying to make ourselves happy with the daily negativity struggles many of us have.

I’m feeling a little Wicked

Hello blog it’s been a while, I’ve missed you! So much has changed, wow so much has changed. Anyways, WICKED yes the musical I finally after so many years of dreaming of the day I’d see this beautiful musical I FINALLY saw it! I saw it last Tuesday at ASU, it was AMAZING! I’ve only seen two other musicals live and it was The Lion King and Aladdin (at California Adventures if that counts I’ll count it anyways) but where do I even start!

I already had somewhat of an idea on the story line but no further details and can I just say I LOVE Elphaba. I relate to her on so many different levels. It’s this mixture of love, friendship, magic, bullies, and happiness all in one. Mary Kate Morrissey as Elphaba did such an amazing job. I was in tears by the end of the show. Carrie ST. Louis played Glinda *toss toss* she had me laughing so hard I forgot all my problems during that entire show. Bottom line I need to see it again and YOU need to see it as well. There are so many other musicals I have yet to see live, what’s your favorie misdial? Yay for another post~

Hungry Healthy Happy #1

Everyone loves food who doesn’t but we could always be a little more healthier and nurture our bodies and what better way to do that then with pancakes. Normally I would just be lazy about it and make them out of the box that your buy at the market and all you need is milk, but I thought I would try and make them from scratch. Here is a delicious peach/strawberry pancake recipe with a few little tweaks to a more healthier meal. Also I make my coffee with coconut milk and a little bit of coconut sugar. SO GOOD ENJOY!Ingredients 

  1. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  2. 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  3. 1 1/2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  4. 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  5. 1 tbsp. baking powder
  6. 1 egg
  7. 1/2 salt
  8. 1 3/4 coconut milk
  9. 1 tbsp. coconut oil or olive oil
  10. 1 peach/ 2 strawberries or any fruit you love
  11. Your favorite syrup mine is always between honey and Log Cabin All natural Table syrup


  1. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together, whisk them together but do not over mix
  2. Heat a nonstick pan over medium-high heat and grease with the cooking oil of your choice. Pour the batter onto the pan as much or as little you may want depends on the size of pancake you would prefer
  3. Flip the pancakes after a couple of minutes or when bubbles form on the surface of them, cook for about  1-2 minutes on second side.
  4. Remove from the pan and top with cut fruit served with your favorite syrup!
